Who We Are

Child Evangelism Fellowship of Palau

Who We Are

Child Evangelism Fellowship of Palau exists to reach every child in Palau with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in God's Word, and empower them to become productive members of their communities through faith, service, and Christian living.

We believe every child in Palau deserves the opportunity to hear the Good News, understand God’s love, and be nurtured in a community of believers. Through Good News Clubs, camps, teacher trainings, and prayer initiatives, we are committed to reaching the next generation with the hope of the Gospel.

Our History

Humble Beginnings of CEF Palau

On April 7, 2007 God’s calling for Jo Maldangesang to open CEF ministry was confirmed by the Lord through the Word of God in Isaiah 54:1-2. Jo and Pastor Albert Maldangesang have no kids of their own and Jo believed that through her ministry many children will be born again.

Later that year, Jo applied to work with CEF Micronesia in Guam and was accepted by Rev. David Ra, then the Regional Director. However, for various reasons, Jo and Pastor Albert were unable to reopen the CEF ministry in Guam. Instead, in September 2009, Rev. Ra sent Miss Jan Johnson to Palau to help Jo establish the ministry.

CEF was introduced to Palauan churches through a well-attended Teach and Transform Seminar held at PMA. On October 20, 2009, Jo was officially appointed as the first National Coordinator of CEF Palau. With support from CEF Korea, the ministry formally began on January 15, 2010, with the opening of the CEF office in Ngerbodel. Jo Maldangesang, Enitha Edwards, and Dodger Kumangai served as the founding incorporators.

On May 29, 2010, the office was inaugurated, and Jo was commissioned in the presence of the board and pastors from various evangelical churches. After much prayer and perseverance, CEF Palau was officially registered on January 26, 2012. The first board members were Enitha Edwards, Dodger Kumangai, Nenea Jamila, Cecilia Andrew, and Jo Maldangesang.
